I am writing to endorse Liz O’Donnell for Town Moderator. As a Town Meeting Member since 2012, I have seen firsthand Liz’s intelligence, dedication, and thoughtfulness at work - first as a fellow TMM, and later during her ten-year tenure on the Finance and Warrant Committee.

Liz is a seasoned communications professional who understands the importance of gathering and presenting information clearly and impartially—an extremely valuable skill for a moderator guiding Town Meeting debates on often complex budget, zoning, and bylaw articles. Her deep knowledge of these areas (at times impressively arcane) is another significant asset she would bring to this role.

The Town Moderator is also responsible for appointing several committees that support Town Meeting by conducting in-depth research and review of warrant articles, including FinCom, Capital Expenditures, and By-Laws. Liz understands the importance of selecting well-qualified candidates with diverse perspectives, and she is committed to creating a more open and transparent appointment process.
